We had the mobile video game van out Thursday for I Corps going away BBQ.  The Corps did a great job with games, things for the kids, singing, and of course our van.  

Our next two support events are the monthly Newcomers Briefing, which is June 2, followed by the BOSS Car Show on June 12th.

JBLM is the place to be today as thousands of  military folks turn out to celebrate Armed Forces Day. And, we'll be there too, handing out balloons and postcards to promote JaBLAM.com, as well as other promotions. We are also signing folks up for a chance to win a trip to the Caribbean.

We have the Pet Parade tomorrow, Armed Forces Day weekend next weekend, a BOSS car show at the end of the month. WOW!  Our staff is in overdrive mode as we prepare gift bags for the soldiers, get JaBLAM Man in his uniform, arrange for mobile video games, blow up balloons - it's all in our effort to support the troops!!  And, it's fun!

Chatted with the Pet Brigade on JBLM yesterday.  They agreed to join us next Saturday, May 14 at our booth during JBLM's annual Pet Parade.  The Pet Brigade will offer water, treats, and some activities for the pets participating in the event.  Should be a good time.

    Our Star Military Program has a busy week on and off the bases.  Today we start major planning on our Salute to the Unsung Heroes: Military Kids event slated for October.  Thursday morning, we participate in a stakeholders meeting for Wear Blue: Run to Remember in DuPont, followed that evening with meetings to support Boy Scouts of America at JBLM.
   Friday, we are taking a fruit plate to the Fisher House to support a Mother's Day party there.

This is an exciting time at JBLM because as spring progresses, we start receiving a massive number of new families to the Joint Base.  Of course, we have to say goodbye to friends whose time to leave is now as well (which is the sad part).

Each month, newcomers are welcomed to the base at the end of the month Newcomers Meeting.  We are there every month handing out information and materials to those arriving - we focus on helping them adjust to the area by providing them news and merchant materials designed to get them familiarized to their new home away from home.

But, during this time of the year (through September), we'll see a bigger influx of new folks because this is the time of the year most families make the move.  It's exciting to meet new people, and it is always a great time of the year.
