Regis Jackson, owner of The Pet Brigade, a day and extended home away from home for dogs and cats on North Fort Lewis near the Museum, as well as an obedience training facility donated pizzas to Fort Lewis firefighters on Sept. 11 to appreciate their service to this country.
“We delivered them personally to Station 1 (newer station across from the Post Office on Fort Lewis), 20 cheese, 20 pepperoni, and 20 sausage,” Jackson said.
Members of the Pierce Military Business Alliance presented a check to McChord Air Force Base Monday for the base’s Warm Heart program – a fund that provides money to various morale programs on the base. PMBA members include Tactical Tailor, Coinforce.com, Fort Lewis Ranger newspaper, NW Airlifter newspaper, Harborstone Credit Union, America’s Credit Union, American Lake Credit Union, Pierce County Council, Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, Geico, Garlic Jim’s Pizza, and Triwest Healthcare Alliance.
The Free Photos with Santa event Nov. 7th at Fort Lewis to benefit the families of deployed service members is looking for donated items to go in care packages. The event brings families to Evergreen Elementary on Fort Lewis between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to take photos with Santa (early enough to make holiday mailing deadlines), then packages those photos in care packages and sent directly to the familiy’s deployed servicemember – the entire program at no cost to military families. If you would like to donate items, drop them off at any Harborstone Credit Union or America’s Credit Union branch. Cash donation may be sent to the Fort Lewis Ranger, P.O. Box 98801, Lakewood, Wa 98496. The event is co-sponsored by CDS Truck Driver Training, the Pierce Military Business Alliance, Support America’s Armed Forces, The Association of the United States Army and D.R. Horton.
Lakewood Ford has agreed to be a drop-off location for Operation Make a Soldier Smile. This worthy project will send more than 1000 care packages to our Fort Lewis Strykers in Afghanistan in time for the holidays. Lakewood Ford provides a critical location for citizens dropping off care packages because the state-of-the-art dealership is open in the evenings and on weekends, as well as being centrally located off I-5 in Lakewood.
The Pierce Military Business Alliance produced a sensational golf tournament Sept. 4 at Meadow Park in Lakewood raising $10,000 for local military charities. The day went without a hitch thanks to some other Swarner PR clients who pitched in and provided prizes and or spaces for military players. Lakewood Ford gave a foursome to a team from McChord AFB – allowing four airmen a chance to golf at no charge. Pet Brigade donated a door prize to the event, as did the Fort Lewis Chapter of the Association of the United States Army and Parkland Auto Center.
