The Fort Lewis Ranger newspaper, along with our clients, will host a Valentine's Day out for the spouses of deployed soldiers on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14th from 2-7 p.m. at St. Martin's University in Lacey.
It's completely free to the spouses. The event will include a fashion show, food, clinics, "spa time," drinks, games, entertainment - all with a Las Vegas theme – all for free and in honor of the spouses.
Valentines Day will be tough for so many spouses here in the South Sound as their loved ones serve overseas – this is an opporunity to let them know that we are thinking of them.
Swarner PR clients will be out in droves TONIGHT...at least in spirit. For four nights, we'll set up space at the exit to the Fort Lewis Haunted House at Shoreline Park. At the exit, we'll pass out treat bags loaded with candy and our clients' materials and promotional give-aways, plus we have stickers for the kids. Also, you'll find us October 30 at the Pet Brigade on Fort Lewis where Go Local has teamed up to provide treats as the Pet Brigade offers free photos with pets.
After that, from 2-4 p.m., we are at the Wounded Warrior Battalion handing out candy to the kids, and our clients' materials to the adults. Then, back to the Haunted House.
We hit pay dirt for our upcoming Children's Deployment Fair on Fort Lewis. Waking up Saturday morning, we didn't have one Santa, let alone the three we needed to serve roughly 1000 families on Nov. 7th. After breakfast, we had EIGHT!!
How? We met with area professional Santas. They gathered at Carrs in Lakewood to share ideas, and once hearing about our program, roughly half of them were available that day to assist us.
A special thanks to David Lobban - local photographer extraordinaire who set up the meeting.
The Fort Lewis Ranger newspaper will print a four page newspaper to go into every care package sent during both the Children's Deployment Fair and Operation Make A Soldier Smile.
The paper will highlight both organizational efforts, provide space for children to color a holiday message to the troops, and highlight the sponsors of the event. Swarner PR clients' to be recognized include CDS, PMBA and AUSA.
The newspaper is an excellent way for the troops receiving the care packages to better understand how both projects came about this year.
The Children's Deployment Fair is organized by the Fort Lewis Ranger and NW Airlifter newspapers with major funding provided by Joint Base Financial Alliance, CDS, Washington Credit Union Foundation, AUSA, PMBA & Support America's Armed Forces, Korum Motors, The City of Puyallup, and Hawk's Prairie Rotary Club,
Operation Make a Soldier Smile is a project driven by citizens of Dupont with major support from the Pierce Military Business Alliance, The Western Washington Fair, Waste Management, Inc, Multi-Care, and several major citizen sponsors.
Swarner PR clients will be out in droves the last week of October...at least in spirit. For four nights beginning Oct. 28, we'll set up space at the entrance and exit to the Fort Lewis Haunted House at Shoreline Park. At the entrance, we'll be stamping kids' hands with glow in the dark pictures. At the exit, we'll pass out treat bags loaded with candy and our clients' materials and promotional give-aways.
Also, you'll find us October 30 at the Pet Brigade on Fort Lewis where Go Local has teamed up to provide treats as the Pet Brigade offers free photos with pets.
The Pet Brigade on Fort Lewis will host free photos with your pets on Halloween to anyone with access to Fort Lewis. Teaming up with the Pet Brigade to provide treats for the kiddies is Go Local of Tacoma and the Fort Lewis Ranger newspaper.
The event is Oct. 30, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with games, costumes and treats.
Kudos to these organizations for supporting the troops and their families...and their pets!!
The Pet Brigade on Fort Lewis announced a FREE photos with your pets event for military personnel for Halloween at their Fort Lewis location on North Fort Lewis. The Pet Brigade wants to salute the troops and families by opening up their shop to customers and non customers on Friday, October 30.
